Common steps to troubleshoot mobile app issues

Updated over 3 years ago

If you're experiencing an issue with your Tracker or the Timeular mobile app, below are some common first steps you can perform to troubleshoot certain issues.

Before beginning there are a few of things that should be mentioned:

  1. The Tracker cannot be paired to more than 1 device simultaneously. For example, if it is paired with your phone it cannot also be paired with your computer at the same time.

  2. If your Tracker is showing that it is connected but it isn't tracking time entries when flipped, the activities may have become un-assigned. If you clicked the "Forget Tracker" button or if you pressed and held the button on the Tracker for 8 or more seconds (which performs a reset on the Tracker) the activities will have become un-assigned and you'll need to re-assign them to your Tracker.

Android

Please note that our Android app requires Location permissions as well as "Nearby devices" permissions (Android 12+) in order to scan for BLE devices. Please ensure both permissions have been granted to the app before pairing your Tracker.

  1. Turn the Tracker off by pressing and holding the button until the LED lights up green and then let go

  2. Long-press on the Timeular app icon and then tap on "App Info"

  3. On this screen ensure that both "Location" and "Nearby Devices" are allowed (you may need to disable and enable them twice before the Tracker will pair successfully)

  4. After granting those permissions navigate to Settings > Tracker in the mobile app and turn the Tracker on by pressing the button once (if the Tracker doesn't connect automatically you may need to tap the "Pair" or "Connect" button on screen)

iOS/iPad OS

If you're experiencing issues with our iOS/iPad OS app you can try the following uninstall/reinstall method:

  1. Open the phone's Settings app

  2. Navigate to General > iPhone Storage > Timeular

  3. Tap 'Delete app'

  4. Open the Apple App Store and re-download/install the Timeular app
