You can now set a time budget in Timeular and monitor a client or project's profitability, instantly identify projects at risk of exceeding the budget, and direct your team's time where it's needed most.

To get started click the Budgets icon (clock) in the navigation bar on the left-hand side

From here you can click the "Create a new budget" button or the "New" button in the top right corner to begin. Users on a Personal plan can have 1 budget whereas users on either a Personal Pro or Team plan can setup multiple budgets.

Give your budget a name (1) and select whether you want to create a budget using some combination of Folders (2), activities (3), tags (4), and/or members (5). Selecting one or more Folders is mandatory but the rest of the filters are optional. You can learn more about filters here.

Once you have your criteria selected you will need to specify the amount of time that should count toward the budget (1) whether or not you want the budget to repeat (2) and specify a start date, and an end date for the budget (3 and 4 respectively).

The final step is to select whether you want to share this budget (1).

  • Only myself will make this budget only visible to you

  • All admins will share this budget with any other Admins of your Folders

  • All admins and members will share this budget with everyone who has been invited to your Folder

You can also set alerts to notify you when your budget is approaching certain criteria. These alerts can be percentage based or time based and you can set a combination of the two.

Now the time entries that you and your team create will be counted toward the budget you've setup according to the Folder, activity, tag, and/or member criteria you've specified and you'll be able to track the progress of active and completed budgets.
