Until now, the Timeular app allowed you to set a weekly tracking target and track toward your desired amount of hours. The new Goals feature takes things a step further. Now you can set granular goals across spaces/activities/tags, increasing accountability for how you spend your time and ensuring your focus is channeled where it’s needed most.
Goals elevates the time tracking experience for both individuals and teams, helping you dedicate time to tasks that will help you "move the needle" and develop a more healthy and rewarding work-life balance. If you’re tracking time as a team within a Shared Space, this new feature is a great way of ensuring projects don’t go over time or budget, increasing focus and efficiency.
To get started click on the "Set a goal" dropdown near the top right-hand side of the window and then click the add goal button
When adding a goal you're able to set specific details pertaining to the amount of time you wish to track (at least, up to, between), and the frequency you want to track (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly). Your goals can be tracked indefinitely (forever) or they can have a specified end date (until). You can also specify which Spaces, Activities, and/or Tags should be included in the tracking of your goal.
Some examples can be found below:
I want to read at least 2 hours each day (daily). I want to track this goal using my Reading activity and I'm going to track it indefinitely (forever). I will begin tracking my goal on December 27th
Starting on December 27th until January 31st I don't want to spend more than 10 hours (up to) each week (weekly) in Meetings
I need to track between 150 - 170 hours of billable work each month (monthly). I have a #billable tag that I'll use to track this. I'm going to track this indefinitely (forever)
Once you have your goals setup you'll be able to keep track of your progress as you track time. You can see your goals progress in the top right-hand corner of the Calendar tab.
The goal progress that is displayed in the top right-hand corner of the Calendar tab is your pinned goal. You can pin/unpin a goal by clicking on your goal progress display and clicking the three dot icon beside a goal and selecting Pin or Unpin if the goal is currently pinned.
The goals you set can be In progress, which means you're actively tracking time entries toward the achievement of your goal, Completed, which means you've achieved your goal, or Out of reach, which indicates that you are unable to achieve this goal.
If you want to edit a goal just open the goals drawer and then click the three dot icon ... beside the goal you want to edit the details of and then click on Edit. To delete a goal just click on Delete.
Please note: In order to have more than 1 goal you must have a Personal Pro or Team plan.
